Hostinger IMAP settings

Hostinger sells two different mail products through one panel, and half the confusion about its settings comes from that. Hostinger Email answers at imap.hostinger.com; Titan Email is a separate service with its own servers, shown in Titan webmail under the settings for third-party apps. Check which one your domain uses before typing anything.

Questions

The short answers

How do I tell which mail product I have?

hPanel shows it next to the domain: either Hostinger Email or Titan. The connect-apps page in the panel prints the exact server for that mailbox.

Is an app password needed?

No — Hostinger Email takes the mailbox password. The password you use for hPanel is a different one.

Which host for Hostinger Email?

imap.hostinger.com on 993 with SSL/TLS, and smtp.hostinger.com on 465. The username is the full address, and the password is the mailbox password.

Can I move mail from Hostinger to another host?

Yes. Point the source at the Hostinger mailbox over IMAP and the destination at the new one; folders, flags and dates come across, and nothing is deleted at the source.

Find out how big your mailbox is. It costs nothing.

Connect two servers, look at the size and decide. Or take the client and keep everything on your side.
